Sebi looks to ease foreign investor access, says Tuhin Kanta Pandey

•Sebi Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey aims to ease foreign investor access, simplify digital onboarding, and widen participation in non-agricultural commodity derivatives.

•Around 205 foreign portfolio investors use the SWAGAT-FI framework, which allows for faster, digital, and more proportionate onboarding.

•Sebi is consulting on net settlement of mutual fund funds, improving securities lending, and supporting hedging and arbitrage to strengthen price discovery.

•The regulator also works on a market-making framework for corporate bonds, a proposed Credit Risk-o-Meter, and a framework to support global fund-management activity from India.
