MDL, NSHIP-AP ink MoU for Rs 15,000 crore greenfield shipyard in Andhra Pradesh, 45,000 jobs expected

MDL signed a MoU with NSHIP-AP for a ₹15,000 crore greenfield shipyard in Andhra Pradesh.

The project is expected to generate 45,000 jobs and have a design capacity of 1.2 million gross tonnes per annum.

The shipyard will cater to commercial vessels, including tankers and container ships, and support India's shipbuilding ambitions.

MDL's order book may cross ₹1 lakh crore in FY27 with anticipated submarine and naval vessel orders.
