•India may add 45-50 GW renewable energy capacity annually over the next 2 years, supported by a large pipeline of projects awaiting PPAs.
•140 GW of renewable capacity is yet to be converted into PPAs, while 86 GW already has PPAs, according to Nuvama Research.
•Renewable energy additions have accelerated, with 13.3 GW added year-to-date in FY27, and power demand rose 11.2% year-on-year in July 2026.
•India's total installed power capacity stood at 549 GW at the end of June 2026, with renewable generation accounting for around 20% of the thermal generation mix.
