Essar Group to invest $15 billion to build largest US steel plant in Iowa
•Essar Group's Mesabi Metallics invests $18 billion in US steel project, including $15 billion Iowa steel complex and $3 billion Minnesota iron ore mine.
•The Iowa complex will produce 10 million tonnes of steel annually, employing 1,750 people, and create 8,000 construction jobs.
•The project will be fully integrated, using direct-reduced iron and electric arc furnace technology to reduce energy use and emissions.
•The investment is expected to generate $95 billion in economic output during construction and the first 10 years of operations.
