An 11-year bet on rented sofas pays off for Accel as RentoMojo lists

•Prashanth Prakash backed RentoMojo, a Bengaluru startup renting out sofas and refrigerators, in 2015. His venture capital peers dismissed the idea.

•RentoMojo listed on stock exchanges with a nearly 19% increase above its issue price, after a ₹1,255.57-crore offering was subscribed 72.89 times.

•Accel, the single largest seller, cashed in on part of its early bet, selling shares worth about ₹317 crore, roughly a quarter of the offer for sale.

•RentoMojo's IPO valued the company at ₹5,071 crore, with an implied market capitalisation of roughly 48.6 times FY26 earnings.
